Communicating in the age of coronavirus
An LA Times article in April noted how the coronavirus has made words like asymptomatic and community spread part of everyday conversation, along with newly minted terms like “quarantini” and “Zoom-bombing.” The new lexicon has helped to keep us informed but also reflects how people are looking for ways to talk about this unprecedented situation. We’re also exploring new forms of socially distanced interaction. Last week, the New York Times took a look at how the outbreak is now changing digital etiquette.
If only we’d gone with “physical distancing” rather than “social distancing” ….
